  Charasmatic leader who dictates the congregation's behavior and fosters an "us vs them" mentality; families have been split apart and are shunned at the orders of this narcissistic leadership.
  Finances are secretive.
  Nepatism.
  Complete lack of sound theology/true gospel.
  No accountability to higher church structure, isolation of power.
  Constant peer pressure and judgment.
  They think you need to have mental breakdown in order to have "spiritual breakthrough", and that is usually a result of the mental abuse.
  They practice some severe shamming and inapropriate "punishment".
  
  I am speaking from personal and family exsperiences. All the good reviews on here are from the mind controled congregants.
  
  Find another church who actually cares about God, theology, community, and love.

  This church (cult) is the epitome of a fear based environment. I was a member for a long stretch and watched many families subjected to sever mental and spiritual abuse. If you did not follow the pastor your life was hell. He controlled family financial decisions, vacations, friends you could have etc. If the husband or head of a family saw through his manipulations he utilized his wife and others to turn the wife and children against the husband or any family member outside of the unspoken rules. MVC and its leaders have twisted and manipulated people, causing near suicides and mental abuse of children and adults that will follow them forever. I myself had to leave my home with my daughter with only the clothes on our backs, just to keep her safe from her mother and church members.

  One word to describe this preacher....REDUNDANT My son listened to some of his sermons and said, "WOW! That guy is obsessed with himself!" 100 one hour plus sermons on the holy spirit??? REDUNDANT! The man takes pride in beating a dead horse too. Look at the page "about the pastor". You can't read it because there's a video of him on the page that starts on it's own.
  
  Talk about being obsessed with himself, if you look at his Facebook page he has over 400 videos of himself 'preaching' which he sometimes calls 'teaching.' Look at the photo on Google page of MVC link, it's a COTE getting an award! Tell me he's not infatuated with himself!
  
  The last time I spoke to him he had NOTHING good to say about me and I hadn't seen him in 35 years. He contributed to my de-conversion. He's judgmental and I'm all done with CHRISTIANS.
  
  My next step is to burn all of my bibles and resource books and maybe even take down my web site. Christians suck!
